Frequently Asked Questions
CM Sterling provides free shipping anywhere in the United States, using USPS Priority Mail. Signature require option available at (no charge), just request it in the order notes on the checkout page. Every item is treated as a gift: packaged in a satin pouch (free with purchase) or beautifully wrapped in a gift box ($15 extra) and ready to give upon delivery. As such, the package will not include any payment information.
One-of-a-Kind and in-stock items will be shipped within 2 – 3 business days. Custom and out-of-stock items will be shipped as soon as fabrication is completed, usually within 7-10 business days. A USPS shipping confirmation and tracking number will be emailed to you upon shipment, and your purchase should arrive within 1-3 business days.
I personalize each bracelet to fit its recipient. Chainmaille bracelets are weaved by hand, one-ring-at-a-time, in a specific pattern. The best way to determine your preferred length is to measure a bracelet you already own; the entire length of a bracelet including the clasp. Chainmaille patterns do not always finish at the exact length needed, so please be sure to indicate whether you prefer a snug or loose fit in the “Personalized Fit Option” dropdown menu when ordering. Every effort will be made to make the bracelet the exact “Custom Fit Size” length you request.
Several clasp options are available. Please refer to the photograph on this page (also located on the individual item pages): from left to right: Interlocking clasp, Heart with toggle clasp, or Dolphin lobster clasp.
The primary material I use is .925 sterling silver. All fabrication materials, such as sterling silver, findings, and stones are sourced from highly reputable sources. To a lesser extent, I also use fine silver: for example, in bezel settings and for granulations (silver balls). For some applications, like the toggle bar for my heart clasp, the strength of argentium silver is required. Occasionally I use items fabricated by others, such as ear wires and necklace chains. When I do so, this is indicated in the Product Description of each CM Sterling jewelry piece.
Lab-created gemstones are genuine stones, chemically identical to those made in nature. In fact, these beautiful stones have fewer flaws (inclusions). A very controlled process in the lab enables replication of the process by which these stones are made in nature, albeit at high speed, and avoids the pollution and waste associated with mining.
Sterling silver will tarnish naturally. The trace quantities of copper in sterling silver react with the sulfur in the air and other chemicals in water. Be sure to remove your CM Sterling jewelry prior to using a hot tub or taking a shower.
If your purchase becomes dirty, simply use a soft toothbrush and some liquid Dawn dish-soap to gently clean away the dirt. Rinse well with warm water and pat or air dry. Always be sure your jewelry is completely dry before storing.
When not wearing your CM Sterling purchase, I recommend you store your item in the black Anti-Tarnish-Corrosion Intercept® Velveteen Pouch that is included with your purchase. According to Intercept this pouch works for 3 years.
I want you to love your CM Sterling jewelry. Towards that end, extensive information concerning each jewelry piece can be found in its respective production description and accompanying photographs. Please review those details before purchasing. Additionally, because I hand-fabricate every piece, I am able to carefully inspect each detail to make sure my high standards are met.
However, I understand that sometimes a purchase is just not a good fit. I will refund a purchase (minus my cost of shipping) if requested within 7 days of receipt of the merchandise. After 7 days of receipt, all sales are final. Please understand that I am a small company and cannot afford to make exceptions to this policy.
If you decide to return your purchase, first contact me for a RA# (return authorization number) within 7 days of receipt. You will write this number on the outside of the box. Any returned item must be in its original condition and packaging. You must use USPS Priority Mail for shipment and provide me with the package tracking number. A refund will be issued to the original purchasing credit card or PayPal account after I receive the item.
